The 1st BC Same-Sex Open Championship Title
We invite top level same-sex dancers to enter the first-ever BC Same-Sex Open Championship Title event. This event is open to any qualified dancer regardless of where you live.
Open Championship rules allow unrestricted, open steps and full syllabus. Couples must be two men or two women dancing together.
You do not need to live in British Columbia or Canada to win the BC Open Champion Title. We welcome same-sex dancers from Canada, the U.S. and beyond.
The events in this competition are sanctioned by the North American Same-Sex Partner Dance Association of which Not So Strictly Ballroom, the host dance organization, is a member.
REGISTRATION FEES
VQDC Admission fee: $10.00 per person. Dance competitors are required to pay an admission fee, as well as competition fees. The admission fee covers the day and evening events.
Competition Fees:
BC Open Championship
$20 per couple. ($10 per person).
$10 per couple for each additional category when danced
by the same couple whether in a Graded or One-Dance
Event.
Graded Event
$20 per couple. ($10 per person).
$10 per couple for each additional category when danced
by the same couple whether in a Graded or One-Dance
Event.
One Dance Event
$10 per couple per dance ($5 per person).
Maximum Competition Fee: $40.00 per person (allows you to enter any number of events). The $10 admission fee per competitor is in addition to competition fees. Thus, each dancer entering the VQDC will never pay more than $50.00.
